AIRIS lab members with upcoming Ph.D. student JongHo LEE attended the 2023 Fall Meeting of the Acoustical Society of Korea (ASK) in Busan (Hanwha Hae-un-dae resort) from Nov 1 – 3.
This meeting hosts a special joint session with Acoustical Society of Japan (日本音響学会). Two of the lab members (Minjae Kim and Rai Sato) had poster presentations with the title of “Implementation of real-tim spatial audio platform” and “REVISITING DIGITAL AUDIO MANIPULTION FOR THE STUDY OF HUMAN TEMPORARY THRESHOLD SHIFT.”
Other KAIST students (led by Haeun Oh, under supervision of Prof. Jieun Song) also presented a poster (“GET OUT” – An acoustic cue-based audio game for enhancing hearing sensitivity) and Jong Ho Lee also presented a paper related his work (VR and object-based audio in EDM: Evaluation for VR music videos in dolby atmos 5.1.2 & 7.1.2).
The captain Kim also had an opportunity to present his research on Spatial Audio and Listeners’ Preferences as a keynote for this ASK meeting.
Not only academically stimulated but also emotionally relaxing conference it was (meeting a lot of old friends and getting to know new friends and collaborators). We also had a lot nice meals (local Busan food)
