From August 25th to August 29th, 2024, our lab member Kangeun Lee (2nd semester) and Prof. Sungyoung Kim attended the Internoise 2024 Conference in Nantes, France.
The French Acoustical Society and the International Institute of Noise Control Engineering hosted the Internoise 2024 Conference and the 53rd International Congress & Exposition on Noise Control Engineering.
Kangeun Lee and Professor Sungyoung Kim published a paper as an oral presentation.
The title of the paper is ‘Development of an Automatic Audio Panning System for Immersive Sound through a Stage Size-Aware Model and Object-Tracking.’
This paper focuses on proposing an AI-assisted audio panning system aimed at achieving audiovisual congruence, automating the conventional audio panning processes typically performed by audio engineers.
As a result, the paper introduces an automated system that demonstrates technical novelty and serves as an initial trial of AI-assisted audio panning.
Additionally, Kangeun Lee was selected as one of the presenters for the Young Professional Flash Talks Challenge, chosen from among 1,125 papers. This gave her the opportunity to present her paper in a unique format. It was a meaningful experience and a great opportunity to meet researchers from various research domains.
Attending this conference was once again a valuable opportunity to learn about different audio domains and unique approaches to dealing with noise and sound control through the use of AI.
