Researchers and professionals in the field of noise control and acoustics gathered for the highly anticipated Inter-Noise 2023 conference, which took place at Makuhari-Messe, Chiba, from August 20th to August 23rd. AIRIS Lab was among the participants, represented by Dr. Kim, who not only chaired a session but also presented his latest research.
Dr. Kim Chairs a Session and Presents Research
On Monday, Dr. Kim had the honor of chairing a session that focused on innovative approaches in sound field evaluation.
Following his role as a session chair, Dr. Kim took to the stage again on Tuesday to present his research topic: “Neural-network clustering for evaluating immersive sound fields.”. His metaphorical presentation captured interest of researchers and professionals on the site.
A multitude of Research Topics
Inter-Noise 2023 served as a fertile ground for academics and professionals to share their findings and ongoing studies. The event offered a comprehensive look into an array of subjects such as spatial capturing, soundscape, noise control, underwater acoustics, and more general signal processing researches. This diversity in topics allowed for a rich exchange and development of ideas and a multi-disciplinary approach to problem-solving in the field.
Companies Showcase Cutting-Edge Technologies
The conference was not just an academic exercise but also a vibrant marketplace of ideas and technologies. Over 30 companies participated in an exhibition held at the conference hall. These organizations showcased their latest innovations, ranging from noise-cancelling technologies to state-of-the-art audio processing engines.
Hands-On Experience with Yamaha’s ‘Sound xR’
A standout experience was the demonstration of Yamaha’s ‘Sound xR’, a spatial audio processing engine designed to create immersive sound environments. Attendees could personally experience Sound xR through a variety of simulations and mini-game demos. The technology presented a seamless blend of sound with interactive experiences, making it a fascinating spectacle for everyone.
Conclusion
The Inter-Noise 2023 conference provided an excellent platform for AIRIS Lab to not only share our research but also to connect with industry professionals and academics alike. The expand of knowledge and innovative technology on display holds great promise for the future of noise and acoustic studies.
