The Applied and Innovative Research for Immersive Sound (AIRIS) Lab at KAIST is seeking a motivated and passionate research intern to join our team. We are currently conducting a series of projects focused on virtual acoustics and auralization using Virtual Reality (VR) and Augmented Reality (AR), and we welcome applicants who are eager to contribute to this growing field.
Project Overview
As a research intern, you will be actively involved in software development and data analysis for virtual acoustics projects. Responsibilities include programming in MATLAB and Max/MSP, leveraging knowledge of room acoustics, and supporting experimental procedures and data collection alongside our research team.
Minimum Qualifications
- Strong programming skills in MATLAB
- Background in acoustics through relevant coursework or research experience
- Completion of coursework in signal processing, or equivalent practical knowledge
- Proficiency in English communication — all meetings, documentation, and collaborations are conducted entirely in English
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with VR/AR development frameworks
- Proficiency in Max/MSP
- Background in sound engineering, including music recording or sound design
